My Toy Fair Blog – Fabula Toys

Our journey to The Toy Fair has been long and emotional.

First, because the very idea of Fabula Toys came out of a piece of research conducted by the BTHA and unveiled at The Toy Fair 2018. The growing concern around screen time for very young children and a unified request from parents to look for an alternative. Through bringing young children’s entertainment, aka nursery rhymes, alive Fabula Toys is not just offering a credible alternative to screen time but also paying homage to BTHA and Toy Fair 2018.

Second, because between 2018 and 2020, when Fabula Toys was officially launched – there was a beautiful, messy story about a mum quitting her successful corporate career and moving countries/ continents with family to pursue a dream and a mission. ‘Tis the stuff every startup is made of.

Third, because Fabula Toys was naively launched exactly a month before the United Kingdom went into its very first lockdown owing to COVID-19.  So in spite of having been around for 2 years, trading for over a year, fulfilling hundreds of orders and winning awards, neither of the 5 Fabula Toy products have been displayed at the coveted Toy Fair yet!

And finally, because at the very heart of Fabula Toys is a social mission – to help parents find a real alternative to screen time, and that mission cannot accomplish itself. We need to spread as far and as wide as we possibly can. And a platform as large and respectable as the Toy Fair can offer us the option to maximise our visibility and reach.

So if you’re visiting The Toy Fair 2022, please drop by at Stand GH09 to say hello to our award-winning set of story gloves Incy Wincy Spider, our large foldable and super ventilated tent Wheels on the Bus, the country’s only multi-cultural set of finger puppets The Finger Family, a light, inflatable activity dice If You’re Happy & You Know It and an everybody’s-a-winner boardgame for toddlers teaching numbers, colours and social skills Five Little Monkeys. Each of the toys also encourage key Early Years Learning Goals and ensure that play time engages children both physically and mentally.

Fabula Toys will have representatives across all days of The Toy Fair at stand GH09, eager to share samples, discuss interest as well as offer stock-on-demand from within the UK.
