Karen Nunn – Marketing – The Green Board Game Company
What products are you launching at Toy Fair?
London Toy Fair 2019 stands to be our most exciting year yet, with a whole host of new product launches!
We will be showcasing six NEW licensed BrainBoxes, to include Disney and Roald Dahl games.
We will also be introducing three NEW ranges housing a mix of different games and toys:
1) New baby products in our ‘Footsteps’ range, including Stacking Cubes
2) A selection of new preschool lines in our ‘Leaps & Bounds’ range, such as Mucky Pupsand Miximals.
3) A new range of ‘Mad Moose’ family games, including Alpha Chase, the winning game from 2017’s Young Games Inventor competition!
How did you get into the toy industry?
I have always been in marketing with a strong bent towards retail; so this is just one of the areas that fits my profile of expertise. In truth this has to be one of my favourite areas; helping to develop young brains and support their learning in a fun, effective, interactive manner. I feel extremely passionate about “inclusive play” and physical interaction in this digital age, where visual communication behaviours can potentially miss a key stage for essential social development.
What was your favourite toy growing up?
Operation!
What is the one “special ingredient” that makes a great toy?
“Simplicity and FUN” …I know that’s two … so let’s call it “FUNplicity”!
Other than your own, what toy brand really stands out to you today?
Exit the Game (Thames & Kosmos)
What was your best memory of Toy Fair?
Each time we have won “Stand of the Year” takes some beating!
