My name is Michelle Probert and I am the sales and marketing manager for Juratoys UK. This will be my second Toy Fair, so compared to lots of people in the toy industry, I’m still a newbie!
Last year I really didn’t know what to expect from Toy Fair, having only attended a few shows previously, I was really unsure on the size and scale of the show and how it would help us generate business for the year ahead.
When I arrived on the first day to manage the installation team, I instantly felt excited by the size and scale of Olympia and couldn’t wait to see our stand finished and the plans come to life.
Once the carpet goes down and the heating goes on, it’s showtime! You can’t beat that feeling of anticipation as the first customer walks on to see your stand with a big smile on their face.
Toy Fair 2019 is really exciting for us as we kick off the beginning, of what we hope will be our most successful year yet. We have a fantastic team within Juratoys and we really support each other and most importantly we have lots of fun.
We all agree that Toy Fair is our favourite show, for a number of reasons. It’s the first show of the year and in many ways, we are still learning about the new products ourselves so it’s very exciting to share our views with our customers and to receive comments and feedback too. We launch over 200 brand new products every year and we are proud to have such a talented design team who work hard to have everything ready to launch of Toy Fair.
We all love to attend the after-show drinks and to catch up with people from other companies. The toy industry is such a friendly industry to be involved in. We are all quietly competitive, and of course we all want to hit our sales targets and to achieve the best possible outcome, but I can honestly say that everyone I speak to during the shows are friendly, professional and helpful – and always happy to share advice!
