My Toy Fair Blog – Thames and Kosmos

By December 6, 2019No Comments

Thames & Kosmos was founded in 2001 with the aim of improving informal science education by publishing high-quality STEM products for children from around 4+. The UK branch was set up in 2010 to meet demand from the UK and Europe and UK Directors, Jo Drage and Steve O’Connor, will be on hand at stall F15 throughout the Toy Fair. Our head office is situated in the sleepy town of Cranbrook in Kent and was recently used as a backdrop to the Queens of Mystery TV series. We can see the Cranbrook Windmill from our storefront!

We pride ourselves in being at the forefront of Science and Technological teaching aids and games and believe that children learn STEM concepts best when taught in a fun and easy way. Our range has now expanded to more than 80 science kids covering everything from ‘make your own slime’ to coding to anatomy. Our products have received dozens of awards from the most reputable organisations that review products for children.

We are also becoming well known for our magic and board games. Our ‘escape room in a box’ EXIT games is one of our hottest sellers, having moved over 100,000 boxes in the last year alone, even without a high street presence.  This word of mouth hit is perfect for those tricky to buy for people and appeals to both the student/youth market and those looking for a family activity.

As well as pushing for better STEM education for kids, we are keen to improve the Eco friendliness of our range. We currently supply wooden toys such as the Pepper Mint series. We also provide several technology games centred around renewable resources such as Wind Power.  As an office, we actively recycle and are happy to provide spare parts for games and toys as part of our Reuse, Recycle initiative.

We are very excited to bring some of our new products to Toy Fair including Hoverbots, solar powered Rovers, 2 new magic sets and even a Gross Anatomy set, because who doesn’t like a squishy human body to play with!
