Can you believe it’s really here? Over the past few days I’ve seen London’s Olympia transform for Toy Fair 2019. In recent years this huge venue has become the home of toys, with each stand reflecting the vibrancy, variety and ambition of the British toy industry. As we prepare to open our doors tomorrow, it’s safe to say the excitement is palpable!
More than 250 companies will be exhibiting this year, and as always they’ve brought with them a treasure trove of incredible new toys. Our hundreds of visitors are in for a real treat when they pour into the hall over the next three days.
With so much going on, you might wonder how you’ll possibly see everything there is to see at the show, but there’s no need to worry. For the best guide to the show keep an eye on Toy Fair TV – our in-house media channel broadcast on screens around Olympia.
Hosts Anna Williamson and Gavin Inskip will be running around the hall showing off the best of the show across all three days. They’ll be talking to everyone from our biggest exhibitors to our smallest start-ups about their brilliant new products.
Speaking of start-ups, a visit to the Greenhouse Area will be on the list of visitors keen to see the future of toys before anyone else. This is where dozens of small businesses and inventors will be showing off their latest innovations, making it an absolute must for all attendees.
This year also sees the return of Toy Fair Heroes, a list of the debuting toys we predict will be massively popular over the year ahead. Tomorrow we’ll be revealing our Hero Toys for 2019, all of which you’ll be able to check out outside the Press Office on the Upper Gallery.
This is the last blog of our Toy Fair 2019 run. Over the past few months exhibitors have shared the stories behind the creation of their toys, their companies and the people who work there. I’d like to thank all of them for letting us all get to know them a little better ahead of the show.
Toy Fair is certainly the highlight of our year. It’s a celebration of the industry and an opportunity to showcase everything it has to offer. Ahead of us are three full days of learning, networking and, most importantly, fun. Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes. Trust me.
See you all tomorrow!
