Toy Fair 2019 Trolley Dash donates 4,000 toys to KidsOut

The annual Toy Fair Trolley Dash once again marked the end of Toy Fair 2019, with hundreds of exhibitors kindly donating toys to the anticipated event. More than 4,000 toys were collected in total by volunteers for Toy Fair’s charity partner, KidsOut.

More than 60 KidsOut staff and volunteers passed through the aisles of the show with shopping trolleys, kindly donated by TESCO, to gather as many toys as they could from exhibitors. This year’s Trolley Dash was as successful as ever, accumulating more than 4,000 toys for the charity.

This year was the fourth time KidsOut have been the exhibition’s charity partner, where they will once again send the collected toys to disadvantaged children via the KidsOut Toy Box service. Toy Box ensures that those children who are re-homed after spending time in a Women’s Aid refuge receive a brand new box of toys to call their own. These children are often relocated with very little possessions to an area away from family and friends, with the Toy Box providing a sense of normality and happiness in their lives.

Julian Margolin, Chief Ambassador of KidsOut commented: “We are so grateful for the ongoing support from the toy industry and the many exhibitors that donated product to the trolley dash this year. Many of the children we support have no toys to call their own, but thanks to The Toy Fair, KidsOut will be able to inject some fun  and happiness into the lives of hundreds of extra children that would normally go without.”

The British Toy & Hobby Association’s Director of Fairs & Special Events, Majen Immink, commented: “The excitement surrounding the Trolley Dash is always a great way to end the show each year. Children are at the heart of the toy industry, so it’s lovely to be able to donate such a large number of toys to disadvantaged children and help bring a bit of light into their lives. A big thank you to all of our exhibitors who kindly donated to this great cause year after year and to KidsOut who once again performed a great job in orchestrating the event.”
