Full Name: Phil Cassidy
Job Title: Managing Director
As we gear up for Toy Fair London 2026, it’s a big one for us – Casdon turns 80! Eight decades of bringing imagination to life, and I couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come.
It’s a milestone that makes us all stop and think about just how far we’ve come since my grandfather, Thomas Cassidy, founded the business back in 1946. From a back garden shed in Blackpool to becoming the UK’s leading manufacturer of role-play toys, it’s been quite a journey and one we’re incredibly proud to still be on! Now in its third generation with my brother Peter and I at the helm, we are still very much a family business.
We now work with some of the most iconic brands in the World – Dyson, Morphy Richards, De’Longhi, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Heinz, Ooni and of course, everyone’s favourite duo, Henry & Hetty. Each one has helped us turn everyday life into playful, imaginative experiences that kids absolutely love – whether they’re whipping up a pretend coffee or tidying up with their own toy vacuum.
This year, though, we’ve got something extra sweet up our sleeves (and no, we’re not talking about birthday cake… although there’ll be some of that too!). We’ll be unveiling a brand-new global licence that’s guaranteed to add a sprinkle of joy to our line-up – a name loved by children and grown-ups alike that’s sure to make everyone smile.
And because we love to keep things fresh, you’ll also spot a powerful new twist on a much-loved household range that continues to go from strength to strength.
Of course, Toy Fair isn’t just about showcasing our products – it’s about connecting with the people who make what we do possible. It’s always a highlight getting to chat with retailers, buyers, and industry friends, hearing your feedback, and sharing what’s next for Casdon.
As we celebrate our 80th year, there’s plenty of nostalgia in the air, but also a huge sense of excitement for the future. Role-play has always been at the heart of what we do, and it’s brilliant to see the trend for emotionally connected, imaginative play continuing to grow.
We can’t wait to see you at Toy Fair 2026 – it’s going to be one to remember!
How many years have you exhibited at Toy Fair? Any favourite memories?
We’re proud to say that Casdon has been exhibiting at Toy Fair London for as long as the event has existed! It’s been an amazing journey to see how both the show and our company have evolved over the decades.
One of my favourite memories was the year we launched our Henry and Hetty Toy Vacuum range, there was such a buzz about this line and everybody commented that it would be a huge success, 20 years later….it still is!
We’ve got a wonderful archive of images showing our stands and products over the years, and looking back through them really highlights how much the brand has grown – while keeping the same family values at its core.
What top tip would you give to a fellow exhibitor or visitor attending their first Toy Fair?
For exhibitors attending their first Toy Fair, my top tip is to start your PR efforts early. Building buzz before the show will help draw people to your stand. Make sure your stand is as visually interactive and inviting as possible. Toy Fair is a great opportunity to connect with other industry professionals, so take the time to build relationships and share ideas. It’s all about making an impact and making connections – you never know where the next great idea or partnership will come from.
