Toy Fair continues to support emerging talent via the Greenhouse Area with just 8% space remaining for the 2019 event

Toy Fair is continuing to commit to supporting new companies develop from the ever-growing pool of talent within the toy industry through the Greenhouse Area- a centrally located zone dedicated to smaller and start-up companies looking to stamp their mark on the toy industry.

Over the years, the Greenhouse Area has acted as a launchpad for numerous toy and game companies- all looking to meet the country’s top buyers- some of which have gone on to become established brands.

Due to the popularity of the area, last year the Greenhouse was extended by 80sqm to accommodate the high demand for exhibiting space, and this year the area will once again occupy the same extended space. The zone is selling out quicker than ever with just 8% space remaining and will welcome back returnees such as Forever Collectibles, Alphabet Pie and Muro, as well as 17 new exhibitors including 3Style Scooters, Piqipi Ltd and Albion Hobbies.

The intimate feel of the Greenhouse, which welcomes both first-time and returning exhibitors, is favoured by many who choose to return to the area year upon year.

Commenting on their first time exhibiting in the Greenhouse at Toy Fair 2018, Nikki Garner from Jumini said: “The atmosphere was fantastic – the whole place seemed to be buzzing! We had a very successful show and it was the perfect place to celebrate the launch of our Mr Men Little Miss range of wooden toys. We are a relatively young brand and our range is expanding all the time, so we need opportunities like these to showcase our toys to buyers who are receptive to something new, who are not afraid to move away from the big players – those are the buyers who make a beeline for the Greenhouse Area!”

The Greenhouse acts as a great stepping stone for those companies making the transition into the industry.

Regular exhibitor, Bigjigs Toys, who have been attending Toy Fair for more than 20 years, initially started out in the Greenhouse, but have now continued to occupy a large stand on the show floor for many years.

Liz Ireland, Managing Director & Founder, Bigjigs Toys, said: “If you are a newly incorporated business the Greenhouse is, without doubt, the best place to start exhibiting at Toy Fair. It’s perfect to introduce your business to the market in a relatively inexpensive way but to expose your product to wider domestic audience. I can say from experience that exhibiting in the Toy Fair Greenhouse was where our first solid leads came from.”

Elsewhere on the show floor, Toy Fair has approximately 15% space overall remaining as the exhibition welcomes Vtech, Lego, Character Options, Bandai, Golden Bear, Fiesta Crafts, Tactic Games, Cobi, H Grossman plus many more next January.

Toy Fair 2019 will take place once again at Olympia, London from the 22nd-24th January 2019.
